Our Oct. 29 releases are Deth's Tar and Penguin Hops. Both beers are on draft at the brewpub and tap room.
Deth's Tar returns as our second installment in the 2014 Deep Wood Series of barrel-aged beers. This Russian imperial oatmeal stout spent seventh months in Heaven Hill and Old Forester whiskey barrels. The barrels were drained earlier this month, and the resulting blend is the silky smooth, sophisticated brew that is definitely on the dark side. Deth's Tar is also being released again in 22-ounce bottles in comemmorative packaging. Start looking for it at your local retailers or grab a bomber from our tap room.
Penguin Hops comes back on the scene for its third year. This very limited IPA is our collaboration with Shedd Aquarium, having used hops grown outside Shedd in the brew. $1 from each pint sold will be contributed to the aquarium. We are also partnering with a few local bars to release this brew at select locations around Chicagoland. Look out next week for an announcement.
