Hot Shot is an American IPA brewed with the latter wort runnings of the massive Imperial IPA 1ZENUFF. While the 1ZENUFF is boiling in the kettle of Brewhouse #2 we send the lower gravity runnings to BH#1 kettle where we unleash a tidal wave of Warrior, Crystal, Cascade and Centennial hops to provide this beer with an aggressive bitterness and serious citrus punch! In the fermentation tank we dry hopped this beer with 2 lbs. / bbl. of Cascade, Centennial and Crystal pellets and then moved it into another tank with 3 lbs. / bbl of whole Crystal hops from Hop Head Farms and lightly toasted French Oak chips.
The resulting golden ale is very dry with a crisp bitterness and exploding with aromas of freshly grated citrus peel, pine and fresh hop cones with an underlying kiss of vanilla from the toasted French Oak.
We love making two distinctive beers from the same mash here at Revolution and especially like to get aggressive with our hopping!
