The mages, alchemists, and arbiters of our Deep Wood Series beers.
Marty Scott, Barrel Program Manager
Starting as a volunteer brewer at our brewpub in early 2010, Marty has worn many hats en route to becoming one of the world’s most recognized experts in the use of wood in brewing. Flanked by Brewmaster Jim Cibak and fellow barrel guru Victor Maravilla, he helms a team of Revolution Brewing’s three longest-tenured employees in shaping and executing the beers in our world-renowned Deep Wood Series and beyond.
Victor Maravilla, Cellar Operator
As one of the original employees from Revolution Brewing’s Brewpub that opened in 2010, Victor has been indispensable in a variety of roles spanning packaging, cellar, and barrel operations. He attended the Siebel Institute in 2016 and has served as a judge at the Festival of Wood and Barrel Aged Beer in 2024. He has claimed over a dozen national and international awards for the Deep Wood Series.
Jim Cibak, Brewmaster
The man behind the beers; the master for a reason. If you have had a Revolution beer at any point in history, it was touched by Jim in some way, shape, or form. Jim’s career in brewing spans decades, with a pedigree built at Goose Island, Firestone Walker, 3 Floyds Brewing, and with Revolution Brewing since the very first test batches devised in 2009.

How do I designate a proxy to pick up my order on my behalf?
-
All you need to do is forward your order information to the person picking up. We don’t maintain a list of proxies on our end, but you can send anyone you like (21+) to grab any month’s allotment within 30 days following the release date.
If you need help finding a proxy, we recommend posting in beer enthusiast forums such as BeerAdvocate.com or on the Chicago Craft Beer Enthusiasts Facebook Group.
-
How long will you hold my order?
-
Our Taproom team asks that Deep Wood orders are picked up within 30 days of release in order to keep our cooler space manageable. If special circumstances arise, just contact our team at info@revbrew.com and we’ll do our best to make arrangements.
-
Will I get presale opportunities for every Deep Wood release?
-
We’ll make every effort to extend additional presale opportunities to Season Ticket Holders. Our ability to do that depends on our barrel yield and other factors, so we can’t guarantee an exact additional allotment for every release. We’ll send an email update before the public sale, for each release, laying out any presale opportunities on the Monday before the Tuesday public sale.
-
Are the Twenty Ten Variant Collection 19.2oz cans included with my Season Ticket?

2026–2027 DEEP WOOD SERIES LINEUP
JULY 2026 RELEASE
Double Barrel Straight Jacket
Barleywine Ale Aged in Bourbon Barrels
This blend of English-style Barleywines was aged between 18-24 months in a variety of premium bourbon barrels before being finished in freshly-dumped Eagle Rare casks. A slightly fortified malt structure provides just enough sweet lift on the palate to accommodate the added lumber and spirit, without stealing the show.
Supermassive Café Deth
Barrel-aged Imperial Oatmeal Stout with Coffee
Inspired in part by the disconcertingly large gravitational singularity at the center of our galaxy, we devised Supermassive Café Deth to be the midpoint of a theoretical bourbon barrel-aged stout-coffee continuum. After a painstaking eighteen months of aging, this slightly sweet blend of Deth's Tar meets its cosmic binary in the form of freshly roasted Dark Matter coffee to the tune of ten pounds per oak barrel. Enjoy immediately or store cold.
Alc. by vol. – 14.8%
Mixed Berry Supermassive Cafe Deth
Imperial Stout Aged in Bourbon Barrels with Coffee and Berries
Imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels with coffee and berries.
Peach Apricot D.B.V.S.O.J

Barleywine ale aged in bourbon barrels, rum barrels and peach brandy barrels with peach and apricot.
OCTOBER 2026 RELEASE
Deth's Tar
Imperial Oatmeal Stout aged in bourbon barrels
A prolonged repose in bourbon-soaked American oak barrels adorns a dark chocolate profile with notes of toasted coconut and vanilla. A rich, supple texture belies the unholy power of our Imperial Oatmeal Stout.
Alc. by vol. – 14.8%
Café Deth
Imperial Oatmeal Stout aged in bourbon barrels and steeped with fresh coffee beans
Fresh whole-bean coffee from Chicago's own Dark Matter Coffee stirs the senses in this barrel-aged Imperial Oatmeal stout. Haunting aromatics of roast and dried fruit enter the realm of toasted walnut and rich chocolate.
Alc. by vol. – 14.8%
Coconut Deth
Imperial Stout Aged in Bourbon Barrels with Coconut
A diabolical dose of toasted coconut accentuates the naturally-occurring wellspring of American oak flavors found in Deth’s Tar Barrel-aged Imperial Oatmeal Stout. Roasty dark chocolate, graham, and vanilla notes round out this off-sweet sipper.
Alc. by vol. – 14.3%

NOVEMBER 2026 RELEASE

Dread & Breakfast
Breakfast Blend Ale With Coffee Aged in Bourbon Barrels
From beneath the swirling black depths of time emerges a two-year cuvée laden with the rousing and ethereal specter of freshly roasted Dark Matter coffee. Brought to unholy perfection via a blackened menagerie of extended-age and double-barreled casks featuring equal measures of French and American oak. The resulting blend conjures notes of cocoa, vanilla, maple, and subtle smoke, in this, the most important beer of the day. 15.9% ABV
Alc. by vol. – 15.7%
Ryeway to Heaven
Barrel-aged Ryewine
Singular in heft and layered with symphonic grace. Lofty notes of maple, brown sugar, and candied pecan suggest sweetness before a dry, rye-forward terminus.

V.S.O. Gravedigger
Scotch Ale Aged in Bourbon Barrels
Aged two winters, our beloved Imperial Scotch Ale ascends from Eagle Rare, Elijah Craig, and WhistlePig Rye barrels ready to satiate thirst or rebel against the crown. Notes of toffee, maple, and dried fruit accented with subtle beechwood smokiness smoulder within an oak structure as sturdy as a stone hearth.
Alc. by vol. – 14.9%
Stereolyth
Blend of Munich-style Barleywine and Stout Aged in Bourbon Barrels
Produced in collaboration with Private Press Brewing in Santa Cruz, CA, this “deconstructed” Munich-style Imperial Stout was broken into two disparate recipes, aged in Weller and Eagle Rare barrels for two years with supplemental fire-toasted French oak, and blended back together creating a stout with the soul of a Munichwine.
