Every once in a while, we get an opportunity to do something completely out of character. For this act of lunacy, we filled a WhistlePig Boss Hog Armagnac Rye barrel with Straight Jacket. After 6 months of slow drips, we got tired of mopping and transferred the beer to two Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels. As if that wasn't quite enough, we blended in a touch of Very Special Old Ryeway we'd had aging in Woodford Double Oak barrels since late 2016. The result is a madman dripping with French and American oak, rye spice, bourbon flavor, barley sweetness, and two years of malt-transforming maturation. Crazy? Awesome? Crazy Awesome.
