This historic Polish beer style has recently seen a revival over the last few years- in part due to the availability of Weyermann Oak smoked wheat in the American market. That’s right, this straw-colored brew, fermented with a German ale yeast, was made with 100% Oak smoked wheat! It has smoky aromatic notes, with low noble hop character, and a fairly low hop bitterness.
It is a light-bodied and surprisingly refreshing beer style. It is named for the Polish military commander and American Revolutionary war hero, Casimir Pulaski ( we chose to use the Polish spelling for our brew).
