Special Bitter

Find Beer

This beer can probably best described stylistically as a Special Bitter -- a session beer for sure -- but not exactly "traditional" in that there are no British-grown ingredients. We used 100% of a new U.S. hop variety called SONNET( thus the "poetic" reference in the name of the beer). Though they are of British ancestry, they are more floral than their UK counterparts, yet still fairly mild. Domestic pale ale malt is used as the base, and for the appealing deep copper color, we used Weyerman Cara Aroma. It should have a touch of roast dryness and light toffee notes, but the sweetness will be subdued in this lighter-bodied style.
