This year’s Replicale is a lower gravity Saison. All 40+ participating brewers from the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild had the same malts, same starting gravity, and the same Saison ale yeast strain, and all chose a fruit, herb, spice, etc., to use in the brew. Attendees will get to taste these beers at the Oak Park Micro Brew Review on Aug. 15. For our version, we added a bag of crystallized ginger to the serving tank to impart a spicy, yet cleansing complexity.
