Deep Wood Series Release Featuring Coconut Deth, Lumberstruck, and Thundertaker

While other barrel programs slumber in the height of summer, we’re kicking off the 2022–23 slate.
Thundertaker returns, brought to life with hand-selected premium barrels from the bourbon experts at Binny’s. Coconut Deth finally sees the light of day after a long stay as one of our most-requested Deth’s Tar Variants. We’ve taken a long look at different coconut products and techniques (and produced one excellent draft variant) and we’re finally ready to let loose upon the world. Lumberstruck is a new concept, marrying unique beers to absolutely breathtaking barrels outside of our usual inventory. The inaugural edition features a Black Barleywine (sweet like a Barleywine, inky black like a Stout) sent to age in Saxum Vineyards red wine casks.
Pickups will begin Friday at 2pm*, where the Taproom will be pouring the featured beers and draft variants. The Revolution Brewpub will also be pouring all three release beers when it opens at noon on Friday, July 22nd. Season Ticket holders can begin to pickup starting Thursday, July 21st at 2pm. *All pick ups must be completed during Taproom hours from Friday, July 22nd to Sunday, August 21st.

Distribution
Coconut Deth will get distribution in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa, and Minnesota. Thundertaker will see limited distribution throughout Illinois and Lumberstruck will be Taproom only.

Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels with coconut
A diabolical dose of toasted coconut accentuates the naturally-occuring wellspring of American oak flavors found in Deth’s Tar Barrel-aged Imperial Oatmeal Stout. Roasty dark chocolate, graham, and vanilla notes round out this off-sweet sipper.

Lumberstruck (2022)
Black Barleywine Ale aged in wine barrels
Unique and highly expressive barrels age a beer developed just for them, in this never-to-be-repeated articulation of beer, time, and oak. Young French oak red wine casks from Saxum Vineyards in Paso Robles, CA impart equally heady measures of lush vanilla and baking spice to this sumptuous, sweet Black English Barleywine.

Thundertaker (2022)
Imperial Rye Stout aged in bourbon barrels
Built for body, barrel, and a boldly sweet finish, this Imperial Rye Stout is loaded with Canadian rye and European barley varieties that forge a deep and dynamic malt structure. Premium bourbon barrels hand-picked by Binny’s imbue this chocolatey brew with notes of vanilla and highbrow hooch.
