Celebrate the return of Coffee Eugene with us at the Kedzie Tap Room on Sunday October 22 from 12pm — 6pm. After a hiatus of nearly two years, one of our all-time favorites will return in 6‑packs of 12oz cans for the first time. Eugene Porter will be transferred to a bright tank and aged for an additional week with a blend of 3 whole bean coffees chosen by our brewers and the team from Dark Matter Coffee. The winning blend consists of:
- 50% Catuai San Jeronimo Miramar Yellow Honey (fermented with a portion of fruit left on the bean)
- 25% Catuai Wheat (fermented with German wheat beer yeast strain)
- 25% Catuai Blanc (fermented with Hallertau Blanc hops)
In addition to Coffee Eugene 6‑packs, a wide assortment of vintage barrel-aged bottles from our library will be available for to-go purchase:
- 2012 Straight Jacket — $22
- 2013 Deth’s Tar — $22
- 3rd Year Beer — $22
- 2014 Straight Jacket — $20
- 2014 Deth’s Tar — $20
- 2015 Straight Jacket — $20

- 2016 Deth’s Tar — $18
- 2016 Ryeway to Heaven — $18

Lastly, we’ll be tapping a handful of specialty variants and vintage barrel-aged beers during the release party including:
Coffee Eugene 6‑packs will retail for $13.00. In addition, we’ll be offering a 6‑pack of Coffee Eugene + a 6‑pack of regular Eugene Porter for $20.00.
Due to the small size of this Coffee Eugene batch, our smallest canning run ever, 6‑packs are not expected to see distribution. Stay tuned for more details and we hope to see you at the Tap Room (3340 N Kedzie Ave) on October 22nd.
It’s gonna be Euge!
ABOUT THE BEER:
Our Eugene Porter was sent to a bright tank and aged for an additional week with whole bean coffee from Dark Matter Coffee. The cold-aging allows us to extract the aromatic oils from the coffee without extracting any additional bitterness that it may impart if we were to have added it to the near boiling wort in the kettle.
