A few weeks ago, Revolution’s production team visited Hop Head Farms in Baroda, MI to select the hops to be used in Farm to Fist, a new Wet Hop IPA releasing on September 27th. Since Rev hasn’t produced any larger scale Wet Hop beers, the brewery crew was pretty excited to get the ball rolling on this project. After smelling an array of the farm’s various hops, the group landed on Chinook. The hop’s unique fruitiness, with hints of pine, made it a perfect fit for the desired flavor profile of Farm to Fist.
Last week, over 600 pounds of Chinook hops arrived at Revolution. The hops were picked in the wee hours of the morning and delivered straight to the brewery on a refrigerated truck. It only took a short ten hours for these Chinook hops to travel from the vines at Hop Head Farms and into the fermenter tanks at the brewery. The extreme freshness of these hops will give Farm to Fist an unmistakable bold hop flavor.
Farm to Fist will be introduced on draft at the Revolution Brewpub and Revolution Tap Room on Wednesday, September 27. We are also currently accepting keg reservations for the Wet Hop IPA for public sale out of the Kedzie Ave. Tap Room. Reserve a sixtel here. Keg pick-ups begin September 27.
ABOUT THE BEER:
Farm to Fist is a palate punching Wet Hop IPA characterized by its bold, fresh hop flavors and aromas. A departure from our norm, this beer allows for a unique blend of herbal, citrus, and pine notes that can only be created by the hops’ fleeting green resins and oils. Witness what happens when hops go from vine to beer in ten hours.
Farm to Fist was brewed with hops grown over at Hop Head Farms located in Baroda, MI.
